Croeso - Welcome

Croeso - Welcome to the 2023 IRC Welsh National Championships, hosted by Clwb Hwylio Pwllheli Sailing Club the Royal Dee Yacht Club and Plas Heli - the Welsh National Sailing Academy and Event Centre.

We plan three days of competitive but fun racing here on our home waters of Tremadog Bay with weak tides and stunning views of Eryri beyond.

Once again WhatsApp will be used to pass important messages regarding both on and off the water activities, and each boat is requested to supply a primary number, and additional crew numbers if desired.

Berthing

Raft berthing is provided on the Plas Heli event pontoons, please be considerate to the permanent berth holders, and please stay in your allocated berth, as per the plan below.

To avoid pontoons being blocked by spare sailing kit, we recommend that, if possible, items are removed from the pontoons or if they are left please make sure that they are secure and not causing a hindrence to other users. Storage ashore can be arranged in the main hall or by arrangement in a locked room.

The event key code for the the car park (Cei Heli), main compound and the pontoon bridgehead has been circulated to Skippers - this code is for competitors and crew only.

Please avoid parking under the crane swing area, as this will be in use launching dry sailed sport boats and ribs.

Commodores Reception

All are welcome to join the event flag officers and directors for a complimentary drink and chance to chat through the championships. We will draw the early bird entry prize during the reception.

We look forward to seeing you all between 17:30 and 19:00 on Thursday 11th on the south west facing balcony.

Skippers Briefing

This will be delivered by WhatsApp on Friday morning, by IRC race officer Mike Butterfield and Cruiser race officer Robin Evans

Social

Sean and Kellie Devlin, our Pas Heli bar and restaurant operators, plan a full menu all weekend, with the addition of a BBQ offering on Saturday and live music both Friday and Saturday.

Jugs of beer on promotion and we look forward to seeing you on the first floor during the weekend.

Prize Giving

There will be a Prize Giving after each days racing, kindly sponsored by Firmhelm, Tudor Estate Agents, Chartered Surveyors and Partington Marine with daily prizes, and the final prize giving in the main hall with prizes from CHPSC, RDYC and Spinlock.
